Mar. 17th, 2006 08:40 pmToday started out achingly boring, but has ended on a very positive note! My practice lesson went very, very well tonight. I was very genki and full of energy and smiles. It's amazing how when you are bubbly and excited it spreads to your students. My students tonight were other teachers-in-training but it still made me see how being filled with energy makes all the difference. Even better, I was teaching a very high level of English tonight and they managed to make sense of my point. (Medical terminology and technology, ex: surgical instruments, diagnose, cardiologist)
Other than that today was a blur of really boring, yet useful information I'm sure. Tonight I have to prepare yet another lesson for tomorrow. We are anticipating 6 real AEON students. I hope it goes well with authentic students.
Not much to note in the way of discovering Japan today. Tomorrow is our last day of adult/teen level training and then we have Sunday off. I'm planning on catching up on my sight-seeing and perhaps on my beer drinking on Sunday. On Monday we begin training in teaching children. I'm looking forward to this quite a bit. I imagine that teaching children for 50 minutes will require a lot of activities and energy.
Have you noticed that my English has gotten really boring? This is what happens when you spend 9 or 10 hours a day for 5 days straight role-playing as a Japanese student.
Tonight's dinner was cheese (yes cheese! I got some of those little Smiling Cow cheeses!) and crackers. I also had an apple and some moochi. I'm trying to eat everything I buy in order to save a little money. It was tempting to go out tonight and celebrate a little bit but I'm nervous about spending too much.
