Apr. 28th, 2006 09:11 pmThe Good:
1. AEON finally paid me. It was more than I expected.
2. I ate a 2" x 4" brownie today that was beyond all expectations.
3. I was asked if I wanted to join one of the workplace BB teams. AND, I wasn't asked simply because I'm tall! That's a first! Of course I *SUCK* at basketball but I said yes anyway because it's fun. (I have a feeling I'll regret this as tri training really takes off...)
4. Now that I have some $$ again, I can get my bike (Ruby) fixed. My family will be really happy to see it leave the living room.
5. Work has been going quite nicely.
The Bad:
1. My commute really, really sucks. It will continue to suck until I move back into the city. I have to drive a half-hour, park at the bus lot, and take a half hour bus to my work.
2. One of my 6 bosses is really freaky and one is a really bitchy. (everybody else checks out OK so far though)
3. From my ambitious run on Wednesday night my shins are in a ton of pain. Therefore, when I sprinted up the hill to catch my bus this afternoon it just made them worse.
The Ugly:
1. There are a lot of people in the world with cancer. Far more than I would have imagined before I took this job.
2. A large number of them appear to be under 40 years old. (now, I know that it shouldn't make me more sad when someone is 26 and has lung cancer rather than someone who is 55, but it just does)
3. If I keep working this job, I will see/hear/read about very sick people all the time. In all likelihood, I will come across someone I know eventually and it will hurt.
