This morning on the bus there was a woman putting on a full face of makeup. I'm not just talking a little lipstick and powder. She was curling her eyelashes, delicately putting on mascara, and eyeshadow. She even had a bottle or eye makeup remover and a baggie of Q-tips for removal of misplaced mascara. I really don't know how or why she chose to do this on the jerky, bumpy bus, but she did.
At some point along the last few years I just stopped wearing makeup. I'm too impatient to do it in the morning, it feels sticky and I haven't had the time or money to shop for newer stuff that looks better on me. So you can imagine how ridiculous she looked to me. I would never choose to put makeup on during the time when I take my "morning bus-nap". On the occasion that I DO wear makeup it always gets noticed. I always feel like I'm playing dress-up.
