cheese is all I need
Nov. 20th, 2005 11:29 amTodays Japan fear is - being the oldest gaijin around. I'm starting to think a good number of westerners traveling to Japan are the under 25 set. Which is fine, except that I will turn 30 while I'm in Japan. I'm in a much different phase of life than I was when I was under 25. I'm much calmer. More home-bound and realaxed. Am I going to be able to find someone I can relate to in that sense? It's not that I don't like people under 25, I DO. I have two close friends who are both under 25, it's just that I want to be around someone once in awhile who can relate to where I'm coming from. I'm sure it will all be fine.
Oh today is a good day. The annoying roommate went skiing for the day. You don't know how happy this makes me. Knowing I won't see his ass on the couch all day. I'm actually able to move around the house without him staring at my every move. I won't have to hear him ask "What's going on?" in his nasaly voice every time I come in the door. One of my biggest pet peeves is when ask me that question as a hello. I HATE it. What the hell am I supposed to say? Usually NOTHING is going on. I would much rather he just asked "Hey, how are you?" It's a much different question that is much more easily answered.
I'm happily spending Sunday my favorite way. Doing laundry and other domestic chores. I just love this day. I'm making a banana pie for my potluck at work tomorrow and cleaning around the house. I'm a little pooped though. I was up late with the girls. We went to see the 10 pm showing of Harry Potter. I didn't get home until 1:30pm, which is late for old granny.
Next week is a short week too. That makes me ULTRA happy. I will pay for it come payday, but it's not like working on Turkey day or the day after is an option. It is just SO WRONG to work on Thanksgiving. I don't care if Safeway or 7-11 thinks that they need to stay open just, in case the Smith's run out of cranberry sauce. Tough. People deserve paid holidays. Everyone. *except for those that wish to volunteer on Turkey day and health-care workers* No temp agency is going to pay me to have holidays so I will be poor the following week. Oh well. I'm going to enjoy my two extra days off. Hopefully I'll go snowboarding.
yay.
