Jul. 4th, 2006 08:25 amThis morning I dreamed I moved into a new apartment. It was this HUGE 1 bedroom on the top of Queen Anne, near my old apartment. It had these big windows that looked onto a tree-lined street. Everyone was hanging out after unloading the last of my stuff. It had wood floors and this big open living room. I was sitting on one couch with my friend EB. On the other couch was this other guy I used to have a small, (but notable) crush on, and his friend. They were eating enchiladas that I had made when he announces that they are far better than my mom's. I told him to "Shhhh!" since mom was standing right inside the kitchen.
I got up to turn the ceiling fan down as it was spinning really fast and I noticed a knob to the right of it. I looked closer and discovered that GOD ALMIGHTY my new apartment has central air conditioning. Air conditioning in general is fairly unheard of here. It's really not a necessity for Seattle. But still, we were hot from moving and it was a big deal. I actually turned it off, because I'm poor.
Then I plunked back down on the couch and asked EB "how am I going to afford $750 a month? It is more expensive than my old apartment and I make less money now." Then I asked everyone "So, do I have to work tomorrow?". To which everyone replied "no, you have the day off again.".
Such a good dream. After that my sister called and woke me up. Poo head.

In other news, my obese cat HOPPED UP ON THE COUCH last night. I couldn't believe it. She's only done that one other time. I guess she just really needed some attention. She sat right next to me. It took her two tries and several circle-8s before she got up, but she did it!
I'm doing my first open-water swim of the season today. I'm hoping the water will be warm enough to ditch my wetsuit, but I doubt it. I've got to get into the lake a few times before race day. I'm pretty comfortable with open water swimming but I like to practice a few times during the season.
