Yesterday I took the slow bus to work because I was too sick to walk the 3/4 mile from downtown. I have cold # 347 since January. Unfortunately this meant that I would have to ride the bus in the afternoon with my horrible boss. I tried my best to catch the one that leaves at 4:58 but I missed it. So I ended up having to stand there for 15 awkward minutes talking to her. I'm starting to realize that she's really not so horrible and I should be nicer. I think she suffers from a combination of being really self-absorbed, shy, and insecure. It's a miserable combination. I also think she senses that a lot of people in the office don't like her. So now of course I'm starting to feel bad for her. DAMNIT! Why can't I be evil!?

I have about a million things I need to do this weekend, mostly involving the maintenance of my car. It's about to drive off on its own and leave me. It HATES me. It's overdue for an oil change, one of the tires is low, it needs new windshield wipers, and one of the light covers broke about a year and a half ago and I've yet to replace it.

I came to the conclusion last weekend that I think I may be ready to go back to school. More than ready actually. I can't continue to stay in jobs that are meaningless to me. I need to do something that is worth working overtime for. I'm seriously looking into the Masters of Environmental Science program at Huxley College at WWU. The only prereqs I'm missing are calculus and organic chem. Of course I can't just jump into calculus again. I'll have to start with algebra and work my way up. It's really irritating considering that I took precalc in high school and statistics in college, but I've forgotten everything.

this is unrelated, but you replied to my seattle lj post with the suggestion of maple street cafe. i'm quite fond of this person, so i'd be willing to drive him all the way to edmonds in search of his dream. however, i couldn't find the maple street cafe on http://www.yelp.com or http://www.citysearch.com or even on google. does it have a website?

also, as far as the math stuff goes... one option would be to refresh your memory online. here's a post about that... http://lifehacker.com/software/education/technophilia-get-a-free-college-education-online-201979.php

DUH!

I'm *such* a dork! I went there every Saturday this summer, you'd think I knew the correct name! It's Walnut Street Cafe, not Maple Street.
I think they might have a website but I couldn't find it either. Here's a semi helpful link:

p.s. the review is not mine, but I agree; it's the best in Edmonds and the northend. The peach scones on Saturday morning are still warm and really yummy!
